Cob Wargaming

Hall of  Fame

Greetings Cobbers!

Welcome to our Hall of Fame! This page will showcase our most spectacular moments taken from any and all of our battles. Think of it as a highlight reel of carnage! Every model pictured is the model that was used during the encounter in question. We will also include a handy link to take you straight to the action.

Gil Galad

The mighty Elven lord enters the Cob Wargaming Hall of Fame for his impressive skill during the Champions League of LOTR Tournament. Gil Galad finished 3rd and earned his bronze medal by defeating Lurtz, the mighty Frodo!, Gorbag and a Captain of Minas Tirith. He was then beaten in the Semi-Final by Boromir but re-gained his honour by defeating the powerful Elrond in the Bronze medal match.

Boromir

The Steward Prince of Gondor gained his place in the Cob Wargaming Hall of Fame by finishing second in the Champions League of LOTR Tournament. Boromir bagged his silver medal the hard way by defeating Shagrat, a Troll Chieftain, Balin, The High Elf Captain and Gil Galad before he was beaten in the final by Aragorn. Boromir arguably had the hardest run of fights but he strode through the confidently before losing to his natural rival.

Aragorn

The Heir to the Throne of Gondor rightfully forced his way into the Cob Wargaming Hall of Fame with an incredible Gold medal in the Champions League of LOTR Tournament. He was an obvious favourite but he did not cave into the pressure despite having to beat the love of his life in the very first round. This was followed by a tough draw of a Cave Troll, Eomer, Gimli, Elrond and Boromir in the grand final.

Grishnakh

This Orc Captain comes into the Cob Wargaming Hall of Fame not as a medallist but as a legend! He took out a lowly Easterling Warrior in the first round before being drawn against the mighty Mordor Troll. The Mordor Troll had only just finished peeling the remains of Merry off his foot when Grishnakh stormed into combat and slew the ferocious beast. Unfortunately for Grishnakh he was taken down by a Captain of Minas Tirith  in the next round but his incredible skill and bravery became one of the main talking points of the Tournament.

Scout Sergeant Damocles

This steadfast Space Marine gained his place in the Cob Wargaming Hall of Fame for his plaudits throughout the entire Taint of Mechan 44 campaign. Scout Sergeant Damocles was a thorn in the side of the Chaos Forces in every battle he was involved with. So much so that Chaos ended up diverting significant amounts of time and troops just to take him and his squad on and much cheering came from the dark forces whenever one died. Damocles particularly earned his stripes when he and his squad took on a horde of Cultists in the Hellfire Munitions battle.

Chaos Space Marine Carnage

This slightly unhinged Chaos Space Marine known affectionately as 'Carnage'  earned his spot in the Cob Wargaming Hall of Fame during the No More Talk mission from the Taint of Mechan 44 campaign. Him and his squad took on a large group of Terminators on in close combat, the survivors then fled and regrouped but Carnage was composed enough to Snapfire a Plasma shot which slew a Terminator and made them run in terror, dropping their Engineer and wasting a valuable turn.

Chaos Chosen Dar'keth

Eagle-eyed Dar'keth made his way into the Hall of Fame after pulling off one of the most incredible shots we have even seen in years of playing 40k. In the Taint of Mechan 44 campaign finale with the fury of battle raging all around him, Dar'keth set his keen eyes on the Space Marine Scouts. He fired a hopeful Snapshot that was barely within range, it was right on the 24" mark, and hit the pesky Scout clean between the eyes. This killed the Scout despite the improved Cover Save and forced the unit into a morale check which the failed and ran away!

Chaos Terminator Mor'kan

This Chaos Terminator truly lived up to the ideals of Terminators especially during the Fate of Mechan battle. Mor'kan found himself as the last man standing for Chaos but instead of going down gracefully he became a one man wrecking ball! He had been part of the ever dwindling squad of Chaos Terminators who had murdered Damocles, a librarian and Lorentus plus numerous other Space Marines and Cadians. He also managed to Immobilise a Leman Russ battle tank and survive a frankly hideous amount of firepower before finally going down to Dreadnought Sicarious

Moria Goblin Borzug

This somewhat controversial inclusion to the Cob Wargaming Hall of Fame is for Borzug the Blind! Whilst the incident in question was not exactly a proud moment it was still quite incredible. During the first round of the League of LOTR tournament Borzug's team, Moria Heat were taking on the Mordor Maulers and the Orcs were making a comeback. Borzug decided he would try and help his team out and fired an arrow into a combat between a Cave Troll and a Mordor Troll. This arrow missed it's target and struck the Cave Troll who promptly fell down dead!

Grimli the Cogsmith

This hard drinking Duardin is a key member of the Company of Sigmar. This group can be seen on our Blog charging around the Silver Tower. Grimli has dominated throughout the the campaign but he earned his spot in the Cob Wargaming Hall of Fame for his exploits in Mission 3: Chamon. Grimli was in fine form for this mission and exceptionally accurate, everything he looked at seemed to die! His special rules working in harmony to bring about more destruction. By the end of the mission he had so many kills that he nearly emptied the skill card deck by himself.

Aldin a Warrior of Rohan

Aldin the brave, Aldin the fair, Aldin was surrounded but he did not care!

Aldin earned his place in the Cob Wargaming Hall of Fame for his heroic exploits during Round 2 of the League of LOTR Tournament. During this battle the Rohan Royals depended heavily on a handful of warriors each holding off whole groups of Gondorians. Aldin was the most impressive of these he managed to keep an Objective contested for 3 turns whilst fighting against 4 enemies at the same time. Throughout the course of the battle he also killed 3 or 4 men of Minas Tirith. Badass!
